Chris Costan will be represented by two imaged postcards sent from New York to Paris by regular mail in this large and varied show.
This group exhibition demonstrates the value of sending a postcard through the mail. The postcard becomes a displaced souvenir, a correspondence between places, moments, people. Passing from hand to hand, it becomes a small intimate archive. It carries a few hurried words, a date, a fold, sometimes even a silence. It creates connections and circulations across continents and oceans, offering the illusion of an excursion through time and space.
