interventions: Spillage

Spillage:

  • To cause or allow liquid to flow over the edge of its container, especially unintentionally.

  • A spill or a fall from a horse or bicycle.

  • To spill is to reveal information to someone.

There is a superstition holding that spilling salt is an evil omen. In the ethnology of the Balkan Peninsula countries, it is considered that spilled or running water symbolizes mobility and ease of movement, since it does not stop or get stuck, and so spilling of water is done so that the job someone started would go as smoothly as the spilled water.
