interventions: Truth

The concept of Maat was fundamental in ancient Egyptian life and thought. Maat or Maʽat refers to the ancient Egyptian concepts of truth, balance, order, harmony, righteousness, law, morality, and justice. Maat personified these concepts, and regulated the stars, seasons, and the actions of mortals and the deities who had brought order from chaos at the moment of creation. Her ideological opposite was injustice, chaos, violence or to do evil. It was expected that the priests, Pharaohs and their families embody these principles, along with every member of the community. Matt represented cosmic order and harmony as established by the Creator God at the beginning of time. Her symbol is an ostrich feather.
